Review : Biotique Skincare Products

Today,I am going to share my genuine thoughts on the products which I recently purchased from Boutique(Health & Glow,VR Bengaluru,India).

Biotique is an Indian skincare/haircare/bodycare brand.Products are 100% organically pure ,presevative-free and based on natural ingredients.I wanted to give this affordable brand a try because I had heard a lot of good things about the products and loved the fact that this brand is a cruelty free brand.

I purchased three products.

1. Biotique Papaya face-wash
2. Biotique Walnut Purifying & Polishing Scrub
3. Buotique Cucumber Toner

Bio Papaya Face Wash-100ml:
This fresh foaming gel is blended with pure papaya fruit to dissolve dead surface cells, unclog pore openings and smooth the way for clear skin to the surface. Gentle refining action uncovers skin's natural brightness for a younger-looking complexion. 

Ingredients :Papita (Carica papaya), Akhrot chhal (Juglans regia), Neem (Melia azadirachta indica), Banhaldi (Curcuma aromatica), Ritha (Sapindus mukorossi), Kikar gaund (Acacia arabica), Ground nut oil, Purified himalayan water Q.S.
Bio Walnut Polishing & Purifying Face-scrub-This exfoliating scrub is blended with pure walnut oil, rich in Vitamin A and lecithin, extracts of Neem, mint, fenugreek and red sandalwood to purify and polish skin texture. Sweeps away dry lines and leaves skin smooth, soft and spotlessly refreshed. Skin becomes more receptive to the benefits of future treatment.
                                         

Bio Walnut Purifying & Polishing Face-scrub-50gm:
This exfoliating scrub is blended with pure walnut oil, rich in Vitamin A and lecithin, extracts of Neem, mint, fenugreek and red sandalwood to purify and polish skin texture. Sweeps away dry lines and leaves skin smooth, soft and spotlessly refreshed. Skin becomes more receptive to the benefits of future treatment.

Bio Cucumber Pore-Tightening Toner:

This refreshing, pore tightening toner is blended with cucumber, coriander, nutgalls, bearberry, peppermint oil and the fresh waters found in the foothills of the Himalayas. It is formulated to bring the complexion into perfect pH balance and help keep skin in its purest state.

Ingredients :
Daruhaldi (Berberis aristata), Dhania (coriandrum sativum), Majuphal (Quercus infectoria), Pudina (Mentha arvensis), Kheera (Cucumis sativus) Q.S

                                             

My Experience:

My skin-type : I have got normal to combination skin.

Bio Papaya Face-wash:

This face-wash is a clear face wash with micro granules.Very gentle on the skin.This product doesn't rip-off the necessary oils from face.It leaves my skin feeling fresh.Didn't experience any sort of dryness.This face wash is mild yet effective.Fragrance->Smells fresh and not too strong...quite refreshing.Very affordable and worth purchasing.In winters,I have used this product and it's safe to say that this product is great for normal to combination skin-type.It's a nice face-wash which is worth trying once.

Bio Walnut Purifying & Polishing Face-scrub:

It's a face scrub as the name suggests.It has got a pink tint and coarse walnut particles.I like the consistency of this product not too thick not too thin.

After using it my skin feels smooth indeed,but,this was not the case from the first usage.I use this scrub twice a week and it took time to show results...a month.Smells too strong and very heavily scented.I don't like the smell of this product.The walnut particles are too coarse and can hurt the skin if not used carefully.Overall,I would say it's a product worth trying but,I won't repurchase it as I am not a fan of the harsh particles in this face scrub.

Bio Cucumber Pore-Tightening Toner:

This is the star of the show.This Toner has got a green tint.This is a product which is really very effective.After a long tiring day,applying this toner refreshes my skin.It has astringent kindaa smell which doesn't last for long after application.It cleans the skin thoroughly.I could see the results from the first usage itself.My cotton pad was showing the amount of dirt which was there on my face after I used this product.Phew!!!Glad that I picked this up.It's a great product and definitely worth trying.I am definitely going to purchase it once I run out of this bottle.
Note : Didn't see much of an impact on my pores though!

I am back with another haul today.I am gonna share my drugstore makup haul.So, there is store in UAE called V-Perfumes.They have got a huge variety of branded perfumes.Plus they have got few makeup counters too.I love shopping makeup from this store as they always keep newly launched products in their store.Yay!

My Experience :

Packaging:

The product comes in a cream-coloured plastic tube.The tube has got a flip open cap.It's very tight and secures the product well.We need to squeeze the tube to take out the product.The nozzle is of appropriate size and enough product comes out at a time.All the details like ingredients,shelf-life,quantity etc are mentioned on the packaging.The tube is really compact and not heavy at all.Very sturdy and travel friendly packaging.Experienced no product-spillage in the handbag while travelling.Decent packaging.

Formula & Texture:

Formula : Ingredients like glycerin , shea butter , olive oil, pineapple juice, lemon juice, grapefruit juice , coconut fruit extract have been used. 

These ingredients are well-known to deal with skin-issues and make it feel more rejuvenated. 

• Shea butter and coconut extract keeps the skin moisturized.
• Vitamin E present in olive oil is an antioxidant that protects the skin against sun damage and other environmental stresses. 
• In general,Lemon juice helps in killing the bacteria etc.
• In general,Grapefruit is high in antioxidants which fight the free radicals that cause wrinkles, and dull complexion. The salicylic acid present in the grapefruit juice works magically on the elbows, knees and rough patches.                     

Texture: The off white coloured foot cream has a very creamy texture, The consistency is not that thin or runny, it's well balanced.Get's absorbed into the skin meticulously. Non sticky product.

Fragrance:

If you have smelled shea butter ever, you will recognize the fragrance of the foot cream.It's mild and smells kind of vanilla-like...it's pleasant , nothing bothersome.The fragrance goes away as the time passes.Very quickly.

Effective?

Yes.

• The foot cream has a creamy texture which is amazing.Soft to touch.No granules or harsh particles are present.Plain cream.
• Nice ingredients.The combo of the ingredients like glycerin , shea butter ,coconut extract etc is amazing. It works on the skin pretty well.
• Very lightweight formula. Doesn't feel greasy at all.
• It gets absorbed into the skin quite well
• Very comfortable.After applying the cream on the feet, the skin feels better.
• Regular usage of this product helped in reducing the skin-dryness
• Also, flakiness of the skin was tackled well by this cream
• As the time passed, skin felt moisturized, soft and supple.
• Won't say that we will get fairy-like feet in just one day of usage.Keep using this product on a regular-basis to feel the effect.A month or so, it totally depends on the severity of the damaged skin.
• For best results, wash your feet at night and apply the foot cream generously.Wear socks and sleep tight.Doing this will help in reducing the dryness and will heal the rough skin.

Con:

• Not Paraben free.
• Contains dimethicone and alcohol
• A bit pricey for the quantity being offered.One tube lasted for a month.But,yes the product-quality is great!

Will I re-purchase?

Yes.

Overall,I would like to say that this foot cream is really nice.You should check out and try this product if you are suffering from dry & rough feet.Must try out once.Highly recommend.

Review : Loreal Micellar Water

Today, I am going to share my thoughts on the Loreal's Micellar water. First of all, lemme tell you why I chose this product.I love L'Oreal Paris Dermo Expertise Lip And Eye Make-Up Remover,it's one of my holy grail products.Have been using it for a really long time.So, when Loreal came up with their micellar water version, I thought of giving it a try.Hence, this blog-post! :D

What's a micellar water?
According to board-certified dermatologist Hadley King of Skinney Medspa, micellar water is made up of micelles (tiny balls of cleansing oil molecules) suspended in soft water. “The idea is that micelles are attracted to dirt and oil, so they are able to draw out impurities without drying out the skin,” she says. Therefore, micellar water can be used as a facial wash, makeup remover and moisturizer all in one.
“It looks like water, it has the viscosity of water but when you put it on your finger and feel, it has a different texture than water,” says Tabasum Mir, a skincare physician in cosmetic dermatology and cosmetic laser surgery.
Instead of foaming and stripping your complexion like soap and cleansers, micelles dissolve the bad stuff, while keeping the good stuff on your skin intact.

In layman's terms, micellar water is a product apt for removing makeup,dirt,gunk etc. from your skin.

My Experience:

Packaging:
Attractive packaging.Product comes in a plastic cylindrical bottle that has got a pink coloured plastic cap.We need to squeeze out / tilt the bottle to get the product from  the small nozzle.The packaging is very travel friendly and sturdy.Easy to carry along while travelling.The details like ingredients,quantity,shelf-life etc are mentioned on the packaging itself which is a good thing.

Formula & Texture:
The micellar water has a liquid-consistency(obviously).It doesn't smell of anything in particular.The texture is not oily or greasy,it's somewhere in between.Non-sticky.Love the formula,it's very lightweight and effective.Not strong or harsh on the skin.
Glycerin is one of the key ingredients and may be that's why this product keeps the skin moisturized.

Fragrance:
No fragrance.

Effective?
Yes,definitely.

• Firstly,the consistency is liquid(y) so,it becomes very easy to work with.Easy to apply on the cotton pad and clean out the skin.
• It didn't break out my sensitive skin.Skin felt soft.
• Didn't cause any skin rashes.Be careful and don't rub the cotton pad too hard,else skin-irritation might happen.Be gentle.
• Didn't leave any sticky cast on the skin.
• Very lightweight and comfortable
• Didn't strip off any essential oils from the skin
• For eye/lip makeup : use one-two cotton pads...that's sufficient.Take the product on a cotton pad generously and apply gently on the eyes/lips.Wipe in circular motions.
• Removes waterproof makeup in a jiffy! Might need to use more product on the cotton pad to remove makeup(full face). Ideally, two to four cotton pads are sufficient(depends though).
• Suitable for combination skin.Tested.
• This micellar water requires no rinsing.Very true.

Con:
Nothing in my opinion

Will I re-purchase?
Yes,definitely.Bottom line is cleanse, remove makeup and soothe as per the product-claims.I totally agree with it.This product works fine.

Overall ,I would like to say that this micellar water has become my new favourite.
I highly recommend checking this product out!

My Experience :

Packaging:
The product comes in a white coloured plastic-tub.The green coloured lid needs to be pulled up in order to take out the product from the tub.There is a foil cover that comes as a protecting shield between the lid and the tub.Once we throw out the foil,it becomes very important to keep the product covered so as to avoid exposure to environmental stresses. All the details like quantity,shelf-life,ingredients are mentioned on the packaging itself. The packaging is very sturdy and the lid sits perfectly on the tub.Travel-friendly and compact packaging.Easy to carry along anytime anywhere.

Formula & Texture:
The colourless petroleum jelly has got a thick texture.It is easy to rub on the skin.It gets absorbed miraculously into the skin.Doesn't leave any white cast.Non-greasy by nature.

Fragrance:
The product smells aloe-like(mildly) ,unlike any other petroleum jelly that I have used so far.It's very different and not that pleasant.The fragrance fades away as the time passes.

Effective?
Yes.It works.

• The petroleum jelly has a thick texture and gets absorbed into the skin nicely.
• Non-greasy or sticky
• Aloe Leaf extracts have been used in this product.That's really cool as aloe helps in fighting skin problems like skin irritations,blemishes,sunburns,dryness etc.
• The effect stays for about 7-8 hours altogether after which you might need to apply the product again.
• This is a versatile product.Can be applied on dry skin,dry nail-cuticles,lips,elbow,knees, feet etc
• It calms the skin irritation/dryness
• It soothes the skin and the skin feels soft and supple
• If used regularly,this product can make skin more healthy...definitely
• Suitable for all skin types
• Apply this product before going to bed to get best results.

Con:
Tub packaging.Need to use either clean fingers to scoop out the product.Better to use a clean spatula for taking out the product.

Will I re-purchase?
Yes.It's a cool product and works fine.I recommend it to people who are looking for a nice product that can help their skin(body) related issues like dry nail-cuticles,dry elbows,knees ,feet etc.This product is made of natural ingredients like aloe vera leaf extracts...that's the USP of this product.

Review : Dr Neem Dr Darlie Skincare/ Bodycare Products

Hope you are doing well!

Today, I am going to share my thoughts on the Dr. Neem skincare / body care products.Recently,I purchased two products : the Shower Gel(Aloe Vera & Yoghurt) and Petroleum Jelly (with aloe vera).This amazing brand has got skincare products i.e.body care,face care...also, oral care etc.These products were launched in GCC few months back and I wanted to try their personal care product-s.So,let's find out more about this brand and their interesting products!

My Experience :

Packaging:
The Dr. Neem's shower gel comes in a white-plastic cylindrical bottle that has a vibrant green coloured cap.It's a flip open lid.The nozzle is of appropriate size i.e. once we squeeze out the product enough amount of the product comes out at a time.Also, the bottle-packaging looks very attractive and is very hygienic in nature.Plus all the details like product-quantity, shelf-life , ingredients etc are mentioned on the packaging.Very sturdy, compact and travel-friendly packaging indeed!

Formula & Texture:

In Pic : Shower gel(Clear gel with a green hue)

The shower gel has got no colour.It's a clear gel with a hue of green colour.The texture is thin and the consistency is runny.Very lightweight formula.As soon as the product comes in contact with the water it lathers up very quickly.Very easy to work with.Non-sticky or greasy.

Fragrance:
Yes,the shower gel has got a pleasant fragrance.It smells like aloe mixed with a hint of yogurt.If you have smelled fresh aloe-leaves ever,you will understand what I am saying.Also, the smell doesn't last for long on the skin.It fades away from the skin after some time(let's say after ten minutes post shower,ehich I am ok with ).Not overpowering.People with sensitive nose can relax.

Effective?
Yes.

• This shower gel is non-sticky and it is very lightweight
• Retains skin-moisture(post bathing-session).
• Doesn't cause any skin irritations, rashes,break-outs.
• Didn't dry out the skin at all.
• Skin feels refreshed and breathable.Leaves skin feeling soft.
• Main ingredients: Aloe & Yogurt. Aloe is a very important ingredient.It has various benefits.Aloe keeps the skin healthy in the long run.It helps in calming and soothing any sort of skin irritation etc. On the other hand yogurt is a very nice element in skincare.It helps in reducing fine lines and wrinkles. The lactic acid in yogurt helps dissolve dead skin and tighten pores. 
• This shower gel is suitable for all skin types and didn't rip of the essential oils from the skin.May be because Glycerin is also present in this shower gel.
• Ideally one to two pumps of the product should be sufficient (during bath).

Con:
Nothing

Will I re-purchase?
Would like to try some other variant of the shower gel from Dr. Neem.

I highly recommend this shower gel to people who are looking out for a decent shower gel with skincare properties.

Review : Rimmel's Moisture Renew Lipsticks Shades : 360 &180

Today, I am going to share my thoughts on Rimmel's Moisture Renew Lipstick Collection.
Rimmel is one of my favorite makeup brands.They have everything from kohls to lip-liners to foundations to lipsticks and so on.Their products are of really good quality.I trust Rimmel. The Moisture Renew lipsticks looked very appealing because of their packaging and hence I went ahead and checked these out at the counter.Let's find out together if these lipsticks worth purchasing!!!

Product-Information:

• Moisturizes lips without compromising on colour!
• Vitamin A,C,E enriched formula that drenches lips in intense colour and moisture.
• SPF 20 keeps the lips protected!(According to www.nykaa.com,not mentioned on the official website of Rimmel London though)
• Ultra lightweight, comfortable to wear all day.
• A burst of brilliance in a rainbow of shades.
• Dermatologically tested.

There are eighteen shades available in the moisture renew lipstick collection and I picked two of them namely 360,As You Want Victoria and 180,Vintage Pink.

My Experience:

Shades:

• 360,As You Want Victoria : It's a heavily-blue toned pink shade.This shade will suit all the skin tones.It's a bold and beautiful shade.Can be worn at any occasion.I have been using this shade non-stop.It's really a very nice shade.

• 180,Vintage Pink : It's a flat out mauvy-pink shade.It's a neutral shade.Will suit all the skin tones.Can be worn on an everyday basis.I love this shade.

Packaging:

The lipaticks in the Moisture Renew collection come in tube that has silver base and a purple-blue coloured cap/lid.The packaging looks really nice. Rimmel's logo is embossed at the top-head of the lid.The details like shade number,name,quantity are mentioned on the tube itself.Packaging is sturdy and travel-friendly.I like it.
                                            

Formula & Texture:

• Texture of these lipsticks is very buttery-soft and smooth,experienced no tugging or pulling...simply wow!
• Pigmentation-The product is very pigmented.One single swipe is enough to cover any pigmentation on the lips.
• Satin/glossy finish
• Full colour pay-off in one single swipe
• Very comfortable on the lips
• Light-weight lipsticks
• Keeps the lips moisturized
• Not transfer-proof
• Not smudge proof
• Leaves a stain behind on the lips,especially the darker shades like 360, As You Want Victoria.

Fragrance:

The lipsticks in the moisture renew collection have a strong sweet-fruity fragrance that lingers after the product- application.It fades away as the time passes.But,yes it's very strong.I am fine with it as it just goes away after some time ,so it's not really a problem.

Effective/Worth?

Yes.Definitely.

• The lipsticks in the Moisture Renew range are very pigmented and comfortable on the lips
• The longevity of these lipsticks is upto five hours after which the lipstick leaves a stain behind.We don't really need to re-apply the lipstick because the stain looks nice in my opinion.
• Vitamin A,C,E are really nice for lips.Skin benefits from these vitamins and stays healthy.Great that these lipsticks have Vitamin A,C,E
• These lipsticks have SPF 20.How cool is that!It's really nice to wear these lipsticks during the summer season.For that matter anytime.It's a big plus point of these lipsticks
• Re-application of the lipsticks in this collection is very easy, one swipe and we are good to go.It doesn't look patchy as such
• It has a tendency to bleed though.Using a lip-liner will definitely help.
• As the lipsticks in this range are very glossy we got to be careful.A hair-strand or anything that will touch the lipstick on the lips,lipstick will get smeared easily
• Transfers to the cutlery easily.But,we can always mattify any lipstick that has a satin/glossy finish by using a translucent powder.
• These lipsticks don't really flake off at all.But,might cling to the dry patches on the lips.Better to exfoliate your lips prior to applying the lipstick
• Doesn't sit into the fine lip-lines...yay
• Makes the lips look plumped-up and luscious!

Longevity:

• Stays on the lips for about four hours max. i.e. with heavy meals in between.With light meals in between it stays up to five hours on me.
• Please note that the lighter-shades like Vintage Pink stayed on the lips for about three hours(max).
• The lipstick fades away evenly as the time passes leaving a nice stain behind.In case we eat anything oily/greasy,it goes away from the center of the lips immediately.

Cons:

• The strong sweet fragrance of the lipstick might bother some people.I suggest checking out the lipstick's fragrance if you have a very sensitive nose. :)
• Transfers to the cutlery etc easily

Will I re-purchase?

Yes

Overall,I am a big fan of Rimmel products in general and these lipsticks are definitely worth a try.I like the packaging and formula of these lipsticks.I am really loving the shades that I have purchased.The pigmentation is seriously to die for and the shade-range is awesome too.There are neutral shades and bold reds and pinks in this collection.I recommend checking out the Moisture Renew lipstick collection.
