Review : Biotique Skincare Products

Today,I am going to share my genuine thoughts on the products which I recently purchased from Boutique(Health & Glow,VR Bengaluru,India).

Biotique is an Indian skincare/haircare/bodycare brand.Products are 100% organically pure ,presevative-free and based on natural ingredients.I wanted to give this affordable brand a try because I had heard a lot of good things about the products and loved the fact that this brand is a cruelty free brand.

I purchased three products.

1. Biotique Papaya face-wash
2. Biotique Walnut Purifying & Polishing Scrub
3. Buotique Cucumber Toner                                       

Product Description on website:

Bio Papaya Face Wash-100ml:
This fresh foaming gel is blended with pure papaya fruit to dissolve dead surface cells, unclog pore openings and smooth the way for clear skin to the surface. Gentle refining action uncovers skin's natural brightness for a younger-looking complexion. 

Ingredients :Papita (Carica papaya), Akhrot chhal (Juglans regia), Neem (Melia azadirachta indica), Banhaldi (Curcuma aromatica), Ritha (Sapindus mukorossi), Kikar gaund (Acacia arabica), Ground nut oil, Purified himalayan water Q.S.
Bio Walnut Polishing & Purifying Face-scrub-This exfoliating scrub is blended with pure walnut oil, rich in Vitamin A and lecithin, extracts of Neem, mint, fenugreek and red sandalwood to purify and polish skin texture. Sweeps away dry lines and leaves skin smooth, soft and spotlessly refreshed. Skin becomes more receptive to the benefits of future treatment.
                                         

Bio Walnut Purifying & Polishing Face-scrub-50gm:
This exfoliating scrub is blended with pure walnut oil, rich in Vitamin A and lecithin, extracts of Neem, mint, fenugreek and red sandalwood to purify and polish skin texture. Sweeps away dry lines and leaves skin smooth, soft and spotlessly refreshed. Skin becomes more receptive to the benefits of future treatment.

Ingredients:Walnut bark, sunflower oil, methi seeds, pudina leaf, neem chal, paste base-Q.S.

                                           

Bio Cucumber Pore-Tightening Toner:

This refreshing, pore tightening toner is blended with cucumber, coriander, nutgalls, bearberry, peppermint oil and the fresh waters found in the foothills of the Himalayas. It is formulated to bring the complexion into perfect pH balance and help keep skin in its purest state.

Ingredients :
Daruhaldi (Berberis aristata), Dhania (coriandrum sativum), Majuphal (Quercus infectoria), Pudina (Mentha arvensis), Kheera (Cucumis sativus) Q.S

                                             

My Experience:

My skin-type : I have got normal to combination skin.

Bio Papaya Face-wash:

This face-wash is a clear face wash with micro granules.Very gentle on the skin.This product doesn't rip-off the necessary oils from face.It leaves my skin feeling fresh.Didn't experience any sort of dryness.This face wash is mild yet effective.Fragrance->Smells fresh and not too strong...quite refreshing.Very affordable and worth purchasing.In winters,I have used this product and it's safe to say that this product is great for normal to combination skin-type.It's a nice face-wash which is worth trying once.

Bio Walnut Purifying & Polishing Face-scrub:

It's a face scrub as the name suggests.It has got a pink tint and coarse walnut particles.I like the consistency of this product not too thick not too thin.

After using it my skin feels smooth indeed,but,this was not the case from the first usage.I use this scrub twice a week and it took time to show results...a month.Smells too strong and very heavily scented.I don't like the smell of this product.The walnut particles are too coarse and can hurt the skin if not used carefully.Overall,I would say it's a product worth trying but,I won't repurchase it as I am not a fan of the harsh particles in this face scrub.

Bio Cucumber Pore-Tightening Toner:

This is the star of the show.This Toner has got a green tint.This is a product which is really very effective.After a long tiring day,applying this toner refreshes my skin.It has astringent kindaa smell which doesn't last for long after application.It cleans the skin thoroughly.I could see the results from the first usage itself.My cotton pad was showing the amount of dirt which was there on my face after I used this product.Phew!!!Glad that I picked this up.It's a great product and definitely worth trying.I am definitely going to purchase it once I run out of this bottle.
Note : Didn't see much of an impact on my pores though!

My Experience :

Packaging:

The product comes in a cream-coloured plastic tube.The tube has got a flip open cap.It's very tight and secures the product well.We need to squeeze the tube to take out the product.The nozzle is of appropriate size and enough product comes out at a time.All the details like ingredients,shelf-life,quantity etc are mentioned on the packaging.The tube is really compact and not heavy at all.Very sturdy and travel friendly packaging.Experienced no product-spillage in the handbag while travelling.Decent packaging.

Formula & Texture:

Formula : Ingredients like glycerin , shea butter , olive oil, pineapple juice, lemon juice, grapefruit juice , coconut fruit extract have been used. 

These ingredients are well-known to deal with skin-issues and make it feel more rejuvenated. 

• Shea butter and coconut extract keeps the skin moisturized.
• Vitamin E present in olive oil is an antioxidant that protects the skin against sun damage and other environmental stresses. 
• In general,Lemon juice helps in killing the bacteria etc.
• In general,Grapefruit is high in antioxidants which fight the free radicals that cause wrinkles, and dull complexion. The salicylic acid present in the grapefruit juice works magically on the elbows, knees and rough patches.                     

Texture: The off white coloured foot cream has a very creamy texture, The consistency is not that thin or runny, it's well balanced.Get's absorbed into the skin meticulously. Non sticky product.

Fragrance:

If you have smelled shea butter ever, you will recognize the fragrance of the foot cream.It's mild and smells kind of vanilla-like...it's pleasant , nothing bothersome.The fragrance goes away as the time passes.Very quickly.

Effective?

Yes.

• The foot cream has a creamy texture which is amazing.Soft to touch.No granules or harsh particles are present.Plain cream.
• Nice ingredients.The combo of the ingredients like glycerin , shea butter ,coconut extract etc is amazing. It works on the skin pretty well.
• Very lightweight formula. Doesn't feel greasy at all.
• It gets absorbed into the skin quite well
• Very comfortable.After applying the cream on the feet, the skin feels better.
• Regular usage of this product helped in reducing the skin-dryness
• Also, flakiness of the skin was tackled well by this cream
• As the time passed, skin felt moisturized, soft and supple.
• Won't say that we will get fairy-like feet in just one day of usage.Keep using this product on a regular-basis to feel the effect.A month or so, it totally depends on the severity of the damaged skin.
• For best results, wash your feet at night and apply the foot cream generously.Wear socks and sleep tight.Doing this will help in reducing the dryness and will heal the rough skin.

Con:

• Not Paraben free.
• Contains dimethicone and alcohol
• A bit pricey for the quantity being offered.One tube lasted for a month.But,yes the product-quality is great!

Will I re-purchase?

Yes.

Overall,I would like to say that this foot cream is really nice.You should check out and try this product if you are suffering from dry & rough feet.Must try out once.Highly recommend.

Wow! The packaging is really cool.The product comes in a cream-coloured plastic tube packaging.There is a flip open plastic cap(green coloured) attached to the tube.We need to squeeze the tube to take out the product.Very hygienic packaging.All the details like quantity,shelf-life , ingredients etc are mentioned on the tube.The packaging is very sturdy and travel-friendly.But, the tube contains a lot of product due to which you might feel that it is a little heavy to carry along while travelling(in handbag etc). I am ok with the size and weight of the tube.Overall , I am impressed with the packaging.

Formula & Texture:

The aloe vera gel has got no colour as such.It's a clear gel.It has jelly-like texture.Thin-consistency but, not runny.Very light-weight formula.After applying the gel on the skin , it gives a soothing effect and the skin feels rejuvenated! It doesn't leave any sort of white cast on the skin.

Safety prescription: No paraben, benzophenone, animal oil,mineral oil,artificial coloring. Simply amazing.

Yes, the aloe vera gel has got a very natural and refreshing leaf-like(referring to actual aloe-leaf) fragrance that fades away as the time passes.Nothing to worry.Take my word!

Effective?

Yes,totally worth the money.

• The product comes in a gel-form and is non-sticky or greasy.
• The consistency of the product is kind of thin and light weight
• Also the aloe vera gel gets absorbed into the skin in a jiffy. Is'nt that cool?
• Easy to apply on the go.Squeeze out apply ,sit back relax.
• It's a versatile product in my opinion.It can be used as a moisturizer or as a face pack or after sun exposure (sun care) etc.
• Keeps the skin moisturized.Skin feels soft and supple.In short,  it takes care of rough skin nicely.
• It really helps in calming down the skin -irritation / sunburn effect.Hats off!
• Budget-friendly product.So affordable.
• It's suitable for all skin types...seriously true...tried and tested.
• Used on a daily basis,one tube lasted for about a month.

Benefits of using aloe vera gel:

• Apply on your skin.In the long run,it will help in restoring the moisture and will keep the skin healthy
• Use as a hair-mask.It makes the hair stronger and healthier.Also,it nourishes the roots.
• Apply as a sleeping mask and leave it overnight.Get baby soft skin the very next day.
• Apply as a hand moisturizer to keep your hands/feet in good condition...list goes on and on.

Best part of this product is that it's formulated sans Paraben and other harmful chemicals.Yay!!!

Packaging:
The product comes in a white coloured plastic-tub.The green coloured lid needs to be pulled up in order to take out the product from the tub.There is a foil cover that comes as a protecting shield between the lid and the tub.Once we throw out the foil,it becomes very important to keep the product covered so as to avoid exposure to environmental stresses. All the details like quantity,shelf-life,ingredients are mentioned on the packaging itself. The packaging is very sturdy and the lid sits perfectly on the tub.Travel-friendly and compact packaging.Easy to carry along anytime anywhere.

Formula & Texture:
The colourless petroleum jelly has got a thick texture.It is easy to rub on the skin.It gets absorbed miraculously into the skin.Doesn't leave any white cast.Non-greasy by nature.

Fragrance:
The product smells aloe-like(mildly) ,unlike any other petroleum jelly that I have used so far.It's very different and not that pleasant.The fragrance fades away as the time passes.

Effective?
Yes.It works.

• The petroleum jelly has a thick texture and gets absorbed into the skin nicely.
• Non-greasy or sticky
• Aloe Leaf extracts have been used in this product.That's really cool as aloe helps in fighting skin problems like skin irritations,blemishes,sunburns,dryness etc.
• The effect stays for about 7-8 hours altogether after which you might need to apply the product again.
• This is a versatile product.Can be applied on dry skin,dry nail-cuticles,lips,elbow,knees, feet etc
• It calms the skin irritation/dryness
• It soothes the skin and the skin feels soft and supple
• If used regularly,this product can make skin more healthy...definitely
• Suitable for all skin types
• Apply this product before going to bed to get best results.

Con:
Tub packaging.Need to use either clean fingers to scoop out the product.Better to use a clean spatula for taking out the product.

Will I re-purchase?
Yes.It's a cool product and works fine.I recommend it to people who are looking for a nice product that can help their skin(body) related issues like dry nail-cuticles,dry elbows,knees ,feet etc.This product is made of natural ingredients like aloe vera leaf extracts...that's the USP of this product.

Today, I am going to share my thoughts on the Dr. Neem skincare / body care products.Recently,I purchased two products : the Shower Gel(Aloe Vera & Yoghurt) and Petroleum Jelly (with aloe vera).This amazing brand has got skincare products i.e.body care,face care...also, oral care etc.These products were launched in GCC few months back and I wanted to try their personal care product-s.So,let's find out more about this brand and their interesting products!

The Dr. Neem's shower gel comes in a white-plastic cylindrical bottle that has a vibrant green coloured cap.It's a flip open lid.The nozzle is of appropriate size i.e. once we squeeze out the product enough amount of the product comes out at a time.Also, the bottle-packaging looks very attractive and is very hygienic in nature.Plus all the details like product-quantity, shelf-life , ingredients etc are mentioned on the packaging.Very sturdy, compact and travel-friendly packaging indeed!

Formula & Texture:

The shower gel has got no colour.It's a clear gel with a hue of green colour.The texture is thin and the consistency is runny.Very lightweight formula.As soon as the product comes in contact with the water it lathers up very quickly.Very easy to work with.Non-sticky or greasy.

Fragrance:
Yes,the shower gel has got a pleasant fragrance.It smells like aloe mixed with a hint of yogurt.If you have smelled fresh aloe-leaves ever,you will understand what I am saying.Also, the smell doesn't last for long on the skin.It fades away from the skin after some time(let's say after ten minutes post shower,ehich I am ok with ).Not overpowering.People with sensitive nose can relax.

Effective?
Yes.

• This shower gel is non-sticky and it is very lightweight
• Retains skin-moisture(post bathing-session).
• Doesn't cause any skin irritations, rashes,break-outs.
• Didn't dry out the skin at all.
• Skin feels refreshed and breathable.Leaves skin feeling soft.
• Main ingredients: Aloe & Yogurt. Aloe is a very important ingredient.It has various benefits.Aloe keeps the skin healthy in the long run.It helps in calming and soothing any sort of skin irritation etc. On the other hand yogurt is a very nice element in skincare.It helps in reducing fine lines and wrinkles. The lactic acid in yogurt helps dissolve dead skin and tighten pores. 
• This shower gel is suitable for all skin types and didn't rip of the essential oils from the skin.May be because Glycerin is also present in this shower gel.
• Ideally one to two pumps of the product should be sufficient (during bath).

Con:
Nothing

Will I re-purchase?
Would like to try some other variant of the shower gel from Dr. Neem.

I highly recommend this shower gel to people who are looking out for a decent shower gel with skincare properties.

How To Use?

My Experience:

Packaging:
The product comes in a plastic-tub packaging.The packaging is really very attractive.Tub is of pink colour and the plastic lid is of black colour with matte-finish. All the details like quantity,shelf-life,ingredients are mentioned on the packaging.Tub-packaging is sleek, firm and very much travel-friendly.The twist-open lid gets closed tightly enough to avoid product-spillage.Overall,nice packaging...I must say...thumbs up.

                                         

Formula & Texture:
Firstly,as soon as we open the black-lid we can smell the rosy-scent which is very calming.The pale pink coloured body butter has a silky smooth texture.The body butter is of white colour with pink hues to be precise.The product has a whipped cream like consistency which is not thin or runny.It's not thick at all and is just the way I like.The body butter has awesome ingredients like Glycerin ,Soybean oil,shea butter and rose extracts.Glycerin and shea butter are meant to keep the skin healthy and glowy. Soybean oil helps in protecting from the harmful UV rays.It helps in calming the skin that was damaged due to sun rays.Soybean oil is very beneficial in the treatment of skin damages which are occurred due to air pollution as well.How cool is that!!!Really nice.Rose extracts have been used in appropriate amount,just the perfect amount that's not over powering and artificial.In fact it's very real,feels like we are somewhere near a rose-garden!I basically purchased this body butter because of it's rose-fragrance.But, I'm loving the product as well.

Effective / Worth?

• Scoop out the product and apply on the skin ,rub in circular motion.It gets absorbed into the skin very quickly and seamlessly.
• Very lightweight body butter
• Not at all greasy.I would say less is more.Do not apply a lot on your skin.Scoop out less product at a time and apply.Scoop again only if required or you feel like.If we apply a lot of product,it tends to get oily/greasy.As the time passes the greasiness goes away though.
• The body butter doesn't leave any sort of cast on the skin (after application)
• Leaves the skin feeling really silky soft and supple.Using this product regularly definitely gave good results.
• We only need to apply the body butter once and never felt the need to re-apply throughout the day...ever again
• The rose-scent of the body butter is very nice and lingers for a long time on the skin.Love it.
• Can be used anytime , any season , be it summer or winter.

Cons:

• Tub packaging allows easy product contamination.Always use a spatula to scoop out the cream from the tub.
• No SPF mentioned as such
• Not budget-friendly,but,it's The Body Shop.We are paying to get a good quality product...aren't we?

Overall,I really enjoy using this body butter.The rose-fragrance is very soothing and refreshing.The texture is smooth and product gets absorbed into the skin quickly.Makes skin feel soft and healthy.Takes care of the skin and cures skin-dryness very well.I highly recommend this body butter to people with normal to dry skin.I am very sure that you will love it too and enjoy it thoroughly.No wonder this is my current favourite body butter.Also,do check out all the products in the British Rose collection.The body scrub,shower gel, body mist are etc. fantastic and worth trying.

Who doesn't want that glowy, radiant skin.I thought of trying the Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Face Mask as I was having skin-issues lately due to the hot summer here!Let's find out together if this mask is/was worth purchasing or not!

The directions to use the product are mentioned clearly on the outer packaging.

The actual Himalayan Charcoal Purifying glow mask comes in a tub-packaging.Tub is made up of glass and has a matte black twist open-plastic lid.The packaging is classy but bulky.It's sturdy but, delicate to travel with.Got to be very careful while carrying the jar while travelling.There is a white-coloured plastic separator that separates the product from the lid.This ensures that the product doesn't spill-out and ruin the outer edges of the tub.Although,product spillage might not happen,but glass packaging calls for a breakage-risk.

Formula & Texture:

The grey-coloured  mud charcoal mask has a very nice-coarse texture.We can see and feel the crushed green-tea leaves present in the mud mask.Also,we can smell the strong fragrance of the tea-tree oil.The product(mud mask) is very nicely blended with all good ingredients like bamboo-charcoal from Himalayan foot-hills,green-tea,tea-tree oil etc.This mud-clay mask is a ready to use product,can be applied easily on the face using a spatula.Once applied on the face,It sits perfectly without being clumsy and it doesn't drip down here and there.Mess-free process!

How I use it?

• Wash the face using a normal face-wash
• Apply a toner(rose-water)
• Apply a thin layer of the mud mask on the face avoiding eye and lip area
• It tingles for some time...just a little
• Feels cool on the skin
• Let it sit for about ten minutes.Meanwhile take rest!It dries down very quickly.
• Rinse using luke-warm water or wipe away using a damp wash cloth.Green-tea leaves actually exfoliates the skin gentely
• Apply a face-moisturizer after ten minutes
• Repeat this process twice to thrice a week.

Effective/Worth?
Yes.

• The ingredients like green-tea and tea-tree-oil are really good for keeping the skin healthy in the long run
• This product does not contain parabens which is really cool. Parabens might cause cancer.
• It formulated without using the harmful ingredients like silicone,mineral oils and paraffins.It's really nice that these components have not been used in this charcoal clay mask...yay (Y)
• Tea-tree oil promotes glowing skin and prevents acne
• This product is really good for people with acne-prone or troubled skin-type
• The best part of this product is that you can use it without being too messy!Easy- application and easy to remove.

Tea tree oil may be effective in a variety of dermatologic conditions, including dandruff, acne, lice, herpes etc

Sebaceous glands are microscopic exocrine glands in the skin that secrete an oily or waxy matter, called sebum, to lubricate and waterproof the skin and hair of mammals.

Cons:

• Strong tea-tree smell might be a problem for some people with a very sensitive nose.
• Very pricey product.But,I guess the ingredients are very nice and expensive which might be the main reason for this.
• Tub-packaging allows product contamination easily.Use spatula or a mask-brush to apply the product instead of fingers.

Overall,I really like this charcoal clay mask.It leaves my skin squeaky clean ,fresh and glowy every time I use it.The product is not harsh and I didn't experience any burns or rashes after using the mud mask.

My skin tends to get oily during summers.That's the reason why I picked this product. Regular usage of the product has helped in calming down the mild skin irritations that were caused due to sun-exposure.Also,my skin gets a little less oily after using this product.

Didn't show any sort of pore-tightening effect as such though.I don't regret buying this product as it really did what it claimed except the pore-tightening claim.

Having said that,I highly suggest this product to normal to oily skin people as this product keeps the sebum/oil in control to a great extent.If you have an oily T-zone(area near your nose and fore-head),then I suggest trying out this mask.Must try.I am loving it.

For people with extremely dry skin,this product might rip off the essential oils from the face causing further skin-issues or stretchy skin.Please do a patch-test before purchasing this clay-mud mask.Read the ingredients carefully before purchasing.In case you are allergic to any of the ingredients,refrain from purchasing the product.

Will I re-purchase?
Yes.
